None before Khalid had ever learned how to make Francesca Boticelli forgive them so quickly once she was scorned. She was usually a man eater, with no respect for men once they had turned on her; but standing in the alley with her face in his hands she was puddy.
Weeks went by without much trouble save one event: Khalid found out she was a vampire. The truth had to reveal itself eventually, and once again France was left trying to find it in her heart to forgive Khalid. Well, sort of. He had to find it in himself to agree to being with a vampire, and she had to let him back in. It didn’t take much, but she decided to finally introduce him to her life. She had invited him to a black tie event at Elizabetia’s manor, and felt her chest tighten with anticipation. Would he still care for her after meeting her hoity toity family?
The vampire stood in her apartment, adjusting the last few perfectly curled strands of brown hair. She wore a black dress with a very, very low cut back and it accented her curves and bronzed skin quite nicely. She dabbed on a bit of lipstick as she finished off her makeup, glancing at the clock every now and then as she anxiously awaited Khalid. What would he show up wearing? Would he wear a corsage? The thought made her laugh. It would be adorable if he did.

A vampire, a vampire, a vampire…she said she was a vampire. Khalid had thought she was perfect, wondered how a woman like her could be single…well, it was because she thought she was a vampire, that’s why! Or she was a vampire…she had proven she was, but the psychiatrist in him kept thinking she had lured him into her delusion or drugged him or…something. Vampires didn’t exist! And if they did all he knew of them was from black and white movies, were disgusting, pale men feasted on poor young women and made them damned. Vampires were evil, but France did not appear evil…oh, this had been quite a revelation that he still wasn’t sure what to do with.
This party she invited him too had him nervous. Why if they were all Vampires? What if he was some sacrificial lamb for them to feast upon? What if she was some female Dracula who wanted a bunch of vampire husbands? What if she wanted to make him a vampire? He didn’t want to be a vampire, but didn’t vampires live forever? He did not (that he knew of) so how…how was this…going to work? These questions fueled his nerves and anxiety as he went to her apartment, shaking his head at himself. What was he doing? Subconsciously the Fae in him was displeased as well. The human side becoming obsessive thinking about supernatural creatures was NOT was he needed. Khalid went to her door and knocked, wearing the only nice suit he had and took in a deep breath to try and calm himself down.

As she got ready for the evening the memory of how Khalid found out about her ran through her mind. He had been attacked outside the diner. A young, stupid male vampire had gone after him because of his fae scent and France had stepped outside just in time (though not soon enough to stop the young vampire from biting Khalid first). She tore the kid off of him, threw him further than any mortal human could, and gathered every ounce of self control not to tear out the young one’s heart. The only reason the fledgling was still in one piece was because France wanted to maintain some elegance in front of Khalid. He didn’t need to know she had been a trained assassin, and she wasn’t sure that was something he ever needed to know.
She knew he was there before he even knocked, but she tried not to rush to the door. Moments later she answered, a smile warming her eyes until she smelled his anxiety. The smile dropped and she stepped aside to let him in. “Come on in, sugar. You look nice.” It had been so difficult since he found out what she was. Her mind was constantly reveling in thoughts that he might think she was a freak, or that she wasn’t right for him. This wasn’t how France normally was. She was a strong, dominant creature who didn’t bend like this for anyone, let alone any man… but she needed him back in her life. She needed him because she was in love with him, but she’d be damned if she’d say that out loud.
Once inside she stepped close to him, running her hands up his chest she went in for a gentle, lingering kiss. “You’re nervous.” She spoke softly and touched his face. “Can I change that? I could get you a glass of wine.”

Khalid would have preferred to know she was an assassin than a vampire. At least assassins were human, he could still see an assassin as normal. He’d be shocked sure, but a vampire? Vampires weren’t human. Vampires were meant to be monsters. It was a far bigger pill to swallow. So even though he tried so hard to smile at her when she opened the door and be relaxed, he just couldn’t. He didn’t want to hurt her feelings, but he simply just couldn’t suppress all the fear and uncertainty he felt at the moment. And also he didn’t know if he should…he didn’t want to lie to her, maybe it was good she knew he was nervous. He wanted her to know he was accepting this, but he still needed some time. He didn’t want her to think he was perfectly alright with this because he wasn’t, but he still loved her.
He nodded and stepped inside, looking her over “You look very lovely as well” And he hadn’t even seen the back of her dress yet. When she stepped close he didn’t flinch or freak out, but he wasn’t instantly soothed by any means. He returned the kiss and then sighed “Yes, I am” He told her honestly, nodding his head before then shaking it “No, no wine. I’m alright.” He wanted to keep a clear head if he was going to this party…or should he be relaxed? He just didn’t know. He just kept imagining all these pale people hanging upside down in a ball room. He had read too many fiction books.

It was so hard. Had any vampire ever revealed to a human what they were before? How was she supposed to get passed this? Maybe humans (or confused fae) and vampires weren’t meant to be, but that thought alone made Francesca sick and fueled her patience. They could do this.
She touched his cheek as he admitted he was nervous and her honey eyes were sympathetic. She couldn’t remember her human years, or even remember becoming a vampire, but it must have been frightening. “You’re brave.” She said before she kissed him again.
Patience and tender heartedness could only last so long with the vampire before she became playful again. When he declined she smiled, a coy little expression, and toyed with his tie. “I’m not going to let anything bad happen to you, sugar. You aught to relax. I’ll help you with that.” Was he more nervous because he had yet to hear her say out loud how she felt about him? Humans needed that comfort. Francesca looked him over, reading his expression before giving in just a little. “I care about you, Khalid, more than you know.” She never admitted her feelings, but she would give the dog a bone tonight. “You should trust me.” With that her hand ran down his chest fondly before she went into the kitchen, glancing back at him over her shoulder as she walked away. Moments later she returned to him, handing him a glass of bourbon and holding her own. “Tonight will be fun, honey. Cheers.”

He could see the humanity in her, he could. She seemed sincere in her feelings, in her sympathy and affections with him, but he just felt conflicted for he had an image of who she was and an image of how Vampires were supposed to be and…it just left him confused. He usually could work through any situation; it was his job, but not this. This time he had nothing to go by and he was on his own in dealing with this, there was no textbook or guides to assist him in dealing with her revelation. He chuckled and didn’t look convinced “I don’t feel brave…” He felt like a child who had woken up from a bad nightmare and was trying to decipher what was real and what wasn’t.
He supposed now that he knew the truth, he kept expecting her to be…different. To realize things about her he hadn’t before, things that were dark or frightening or crazy, but she was exactly the same. His mind was having trouble, but his body wasn’t, for his heart jumped when she played with his tie and teased him. When she said she cared about him he smiled more and touched her hair gently “I do trust you, I do” He did, just…he didn’t know. It wasn’t trusting her that was the issue, it was just…he didn’t know. Great, this was going to go well, wasn’t it? He really didn’t want to drink, but when she offered he decided not to refuse and took it graciously “Yes, yes…to a fun night. Cheers” He then took a sip…then another, then another slightly larger sip, which was more of a gulp. Ok…ok maybe liquor was good. It would calm him. It was a good idea.

Never in her life had Francesca regretted being a vampire, but in Khalid’s doubt she felt a small pang of regret. If only she was human. If only she could change back time, or have the ability to change something. She allowed herself to feel guilty and regretful for a few seconds before wiping the slate clean and deciding to have a good night. It would be a damned good night.
The sound of his jumping heart excited her and she smiled. She smiled again once he took a drink, and sipped her own. As she watched him gulp down the Bourbon there was something different in her eyes, as if she wanted to tell him something but couldn’t find the words. Instead of saying three words to him she let him finish his glass, then leaned in and kissed him passionately. One hand holding her drink, the other pulling him closer by grabbing his tie. Oh that tie was going to be fun tonight. Couldn’t he just take that gesture as what she wanted to say? Pulling away slowly, and biting his lip gently as she did, she switched the empty glass in his hand with her nearly full one. “Here. I’ll go get my keys and we’ll go.”
Something stirred in France that night. Ever since Khalid had found out what she was there had been less intimacy (almost none in the bedroom), but tonight her affectionate side was back. Finally she began to relax around him, holding his hand as they went down to her car, touching his hair, kissing him before they drove off to the manor… Life seemed good. Would it continue to be good as they pulled into the gates of the mansion that her maker lived at? As France turned the key to the sports car off she glanced at Khalid and smiled, that same cat-got-her-tongue look in her eye as she touched his face. “Ready? I hope you’ll like my family.” They were surely already waiting at the door.

That kiss and the glass of liquor was doing the trick. He was feeling pretty ok now, so much so that when she went to go get her purse he helped himself to another glass. Yeah…yeah everything was going to be alright. It was, he could tell. Her affections only helped soothe him further as they left and got into the car and as they began to drive he was convinced that nothing was different and everything would be fine. This mentality stayed intact…until they arrived to their destination and he remembered once more why he had been nervous in the first place. Vampires…all these people had to be Vampires, didn’t they? He wanted to ask, but didn’t know if it would offend her that he was worried about such a thing, so he kept his mouth shut.
It was…it was a mansion. Well, at least that cliché seemed to stand, now would there be a cemetery in the back and a scary butler answering the door and cobwebs in the corners? Well, he soon was going to find out. He stared at the building then took in a breath and looked at her with a forced smile “I’m sure I’ll love them” And he hoped they liked him too...just not for dinner.

The very few times France had brought home male guests they were quickly escorted out, or forced to leave. The type of men France seemed to bring home were not mansion worthy. They varied, but mostly they were dumbstruck men who had followed Francesca home like a cartoon scent to a fresh pie. Khalid was different. He was worthy.
She noticed stiffness in his smile and leaned closer to kiss him. “Relax.” She breathed the words just close enough to his mouth before giving him a kiss to ease his mind and entice his body. Afterwards she got out of the car and headed up to the door, only to have it opened for her before she could reach to knock. An older gentleman in a very nice suit answered the door, ready to bow before Francesca jumped him and hugged him. “Niles!” She said happily, kissing his cheek. “I’ve missed you.” She only lingered for a few moments more before stepping back and sliding her arm around Khalid’s waist, introducing him as she did so. “Khalid, this is Niles. Niles, Khalid.” Introductions would be kept short and sweet tonight, and before long they had made it successfully inside. Her hand never left his body for very long, and as soon as she saw a man with a plate full of glasses of wine she took one for Khalid. “Here, sugar. This will help you unwind.”
Just as France handed Khalid a glass of wine a broad, muscular man approached them and swept France away from Khalid in one swift move to hug her. He kissed her cheeks and grinned, cupping her face before letting her go. “So this is the man that’s got Frannie all sorts of love sick.” The vampire said with a laugh.
“Khalid, this is Dante Bennicio. He’s a very good friend of mine.” "I'm actually the love of her life." He joked, but seemed to be the only one in the room comfortable enough to joke with the stranger. Dante wasn’t the only one she had to introduce him to. One by one Francesca introduced each vampire at the party, keeping him around them for as short as possible before she’d maneuver him away and find him another drink to keep his nerves from fraying.

He got out of the car and stared up at the mansion, before taking her hand and walking with her to the door. It was even crazier close up, he was absolutely dumbstruck by the beauty and…power the building exuded. He had never been to such a fancy place before, he knew he was going to stick out…the people in there probably had suits made out of pure silk and gold watches, and he had this suit for the past couple of years and had only ever worn it to a funeral. He was screwed. When she so happily greeted the butler he stood quietly and watched, surprised she was so chummy with the help, didn’t rich people usually ignore them? He extended his hand and shook Niles hand, giving him a proper greeting before they stepped inside and he was even more blown away.
He graciously took the wine and took a (big) sip. So much for not drinking tonight and keeping a clear head, but seeing all this…he needed to drink. He paused and looked at the man who swept France up…and downed the rest of the wine in one gulp. Khalid was never one to compare himself to other men, but he did feel his looks didn’t match France’s…but this man’s looks did. He smiled at Dante and offered a hand to shake, telling him it was a pleasure to meet him, just like Niles. But then just like that he was taken away to meet others, and did his best to keep on a warm smile and greet everyone properly and with as many manners as he could sum up….while drinking down everything France gave him.

Each and every person France introduced Khalid to was polite to him. They would smile, greet Francesca, and maybe make a comment about how Khalid was lucky to make France ‘settle down’ or how he had secured her in. She would crinkle her nose, and as soon as they walked away she would whisper to Khalid how she truly felt about them. Most were boring, stiff old vampires, but some were different. Dante, Niles, and Elizabetia were spoken of very, very highly, and Elizabetia received the most affection from France when she introduced her to Khalid. She was suspicious of him, of course, but courteous nonetheless.
After nearly an hour of introductions France finally had a few minutes alone with Khalid. She touched his face and smiled warmly, then touched his chin and looked into his eyes. Slowly a giddy smile stretched over her face. “Are you feeling alright, sugar?” He looked lit. A giggle escaped her and she touched his chest as she leaned in and kissed him gently. “Thank you for coming with me tonight. I’m happy to show you off, even if you are a little drunk.”
Before she could enjoy drunk Khalid more to herself Dante approached them, holding two glasses of Whiskey and handing one to Khalid. “So Khalid, tell me more about yourself. What do you do for a living, and how ever did you meet Frannie? She’s been keeping us in the dark about you until now.” He said and playfully pushed France, who swatted at him in return.

He was surprised to see everyone seemed so…normal. Not scary or odd or anything like that at all, they were just like France, normal. He didn’t see anyone stick their noses up at him or put him down or give him looks, and that helped relax him significantly. He’d chuckle when she’d whisper in his ear and smile at her and with the help of the people around him and much, much wine, he quickly became as easy and relaxed as a lazy river. Suddenly things weren’t so scary. So what he was in a house full of Vampires and God knew what? Everything was good! Food was good, and the people were good, and the wine was good…everything was good. No worries. Nope, not a single worry or care like he had before, everything was good. Good, good, good…
Ok. He had too much wine.
He nodded and laughed “Me? I’m great!” He exclaimed with utter enthusiasm before downing another glass of wine and waiting for a waiter to come along before swapping out his empty glass with a new one. He motioned around the room “Everyone is so nice here! They don’t seem like blood sucking vampire bats at all!” He was talking a little loud, but he wouldn’t help it, for all he knew he was whispering. He then frowned “What? I’m not drunk” He shook his head and drank some more of his wine “But I’m glad I came. I am. It’s not so bad here. No cobwebs…or Frankenstein or…I don’t know…what else is associated with Vampires?” Oh yeah. He was so toasted drunk.
And oh boy, whiskey…bad idea, but Khalid took it graciously and took a long drink. He cleared his throat and tried to stand a bit straighter around this Dante character “I am a psychiatrist.” He then smiled warmly at France “I met her at the diner she works at. I saw her and well, I kept going back every night until I finally got a chance”

Of course he was great, he was drunk, and knowing Khalid as much as Francesca thought she did she couldn’t imagine him getting drunk. He seemed the sort of man who might have a glass of wine after a very, very long day, but was far too classy to get drunk. Look what she had done to him. She laughed as he spoke, then touched his chin and toyed with his facial hair. “Are you calling me a Frankenstein?” She teased coolly. “Vampires are beautiful, seductive creatures… not monsters, my dear.” A Khalid this fun and worry free made Francesca feel all the more head over heels in love with him, and the words were on the tip of her tongue before Dante came along.
Dante smiled at the fae, painfully curious about his condition from what France had told him (he and every other vampire in the room were aware not to mention the ‘fae’ or any other magical creature for that matter). “A psychiatrist? How interesting. How often did you have to go back before you got a chance with her, and did she throw any drinks at you before she said yes?” He gestured to her and sipped his Whiskey as she swatted his arm. “Oh stop, Dante.” Just as Dante was about to drill Khalid some more the band in the next room began to play a song Francesca liked and she grinned at Khalid. “Oh I love this song, let’s dance.” Before he had time to answer she was pulling on his arm like an excited little girl, guiding him closer to the band where they could dance.

Her thoughts were correct; he wasn’t the man to ever be drunk. As far as he remembered he had never been drunk, but he had just not been careful this time around. Tomorrow he would be embarrassed and hate himself for behaving this way and allowing himself to drink so much, but for now? He was having a grand ole’ time. He shook his head “You? No! No, you are far, far too lovely to be Frankenstein or his bride. Maybe Dracula’s bride though…that might work” Draculas brides were supposed to be beautiful, right? That’s how they are described in books and shown in movies…though France was still prettier than them by far, but he was making a drunken comparison.
He smiled and glanced to her “I don’t know…fifteen? She was a tough one, but too beautiful to not keep going back, even if I was going to strike out over and over again” His speech was a little slurred as he spoke, but it was a miracle he could even create sentences. When she mentioned dancing he blinked, and if he was any more clear headed he would have said he needed to be drunk more before dancing, but really he shouldn’t be any more drunk then he was right now “Ah…alright” He said hesitantly, but couldn’t do anything but follow her.
Subject: Re: It's a sin to kill a mockingbird. Sun Feb 17, 2013 11:34 pm
“Dracula’s bride? Please. He’s far too pale for my taste. I like my men dark and handsome. Dark hair, dark eyes, maybe a little bit of a beard…” Her fingers touched his chin then ran gently over his cheek. “And if I was the bride, people would remember my name rather than Dracula’s.”
Dante laughed a deep, husky melody at Khalid’s response. “She is a very tough girl. You’re a lucky man.” If only he knew just how tough it was to get into France’s heart. Dante would have elaborated had they not rushed off towards the band, but there was not a chance in hell he would stop the drunk man from making a fool of himself on the dance floor.
France pulled Khalid onto the open floor near the band where a few others were dancing. She stepped in close and took his hands, bringing one around to her hip and holding onto the other. The music started slow, and the steps were simple, but soon it became more fast paced and France let lose while she swayed her hips. All the while she laughed and toyd with Khalid, pulling on his tie here and there, and trying to help him maintain some composure.

He nodded as she described the kind of man she liked, totally clueless, until he finally got it “Oh! You mean me!” He exclaimed, before laughing at himself and his foolishness. After that, he drank even more because hell, he had already drank so much so far, might as well keep going right? With Dante he agreed whole heartedly “I am lucky, thank you” Of course he was lucky…look at her! Men like him who were humble psychiatrists barely getting by didn’t land women like her, but he had and he was glad for it. It was perhaps a good thing France pulled Khalid off, or he might have started talking about inappropriate things.
Khalid wasn’t a ok dancer…when he was sober. Drunk? Would be interesting. He let her lead because he couldn’t think clearly enough to do it himself, he just followed where she went, though her teasing made him chuckle and feel rather hot. He fumbled a bit but he was doing rather decent in not looking like a utter fool. He was just lucky he didn’t take his shirt off and tried to do the Macarena....yet.

Francesca was thoroughly enjoying this silly side of Khalid. She giggled at his response and touched him even more, feeling rather giddy herself. It left Dante feeling a little confused since he had never seen France quite so girlish and fawning over a man before. She was normally such a pistol and never seemed to be so utterly happy. It was a nice change.
On the dance floor she swayed her hips and motioned to the band to play a faster song. They obliged her and played a song for a tango, and Francesca’s Spanish lineage showed in the graceful, sultry way she moved. She laughed as she danced, pulling drunk Khalid along with her for a while until the music slowed back down and she was able to press up against him again.
As the song began to change Dante stepped onto the floor and tapped Khalid on the shoulder, gesturing to France with a small smile. “May I cut in, sir? It’s been a while since I’ve had the opportunity to dance with a Spaniard.” She looked questioningly to Khalid, then kissed his cheek. “I’ll make it a short dance. Why don't you go get us some desserts?” There was an entire buffet table of them in the next room.

To see her move the way she did…it was hypnotizing and soon he was just watching her dumbly instead of just acting dumb because of all the liquor in his system. A smile stayed on his face though and he’d chuckle when she teased him particularly well, his hands sliding over her body but his rhythm was totally off and he was rather just like a piece of wood floating aimlessly in the ocean. Oh yes...tomorrow if he remembered even a sliver of all of this, he was never, ever, ever, ever going to drink again. He was supposed to be behaving like a gentleman and playing nice with her family and friends, but instead he was acting like a teenager who had gone to his first keg party.
When the music slowed down it helped to mask his drunkenness a bit better. He had just finished sliding his arms around her when he turned and saw it was Dante, and had to focus really, really hard to get in what he was saying. After a few moments he nodded, not really knowing what else to do even though he didn’t want Dante to dance with her. Dessert? Right…ok. Maybe sit down. Maybe if he sat down he wouldn’t be so drunk…perfect drunk logic. He stepped back from France a bit begrudgingly, glancing to Dante then moved away and tried to find somewhere to sit.

It didn’t bother France that Khalid was drunk. In fact she was floating in a bliss just as he was, enjoying the company that he brought her that night. She smiled at him, dancing around him and keeping him hooked like a good little dancer. Even as Dante cut in France watched Khalid, letting go of his hand only when he was out of reach.
She danced with Dante and he gave her his opinion on Khalid, but mostly dug for hers. As they danced she continued to look for her professor, smiling at him every time until Dante was ready to let her go. “I can’t keep your attention with him around. Go to your Prince Charming, Frannie.”
The waiters and waitresses continued carrying around glasses of wine, carefully maneuvering around each guest until a drunk Professor and a young waitress came into each other too fast. The newer waitress gasped as she spilled her tray of drinks, one splashing right onto Khalid and she immediately began apologizing. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry, sir! I’m so, so sorry!” Francesca had just let Dante go in time to see all of this and immediately went to Khalid.
“Let’s get you cleaned up.” She said as she took his hand and guided him into the nearest elaborate bathroom, locking the door behind them. She laughed at the sight of him, red wine staining the front of his shirt and she began unbuttoning his jacket so it would be easier to clean. “I hope you’re having fun, Khal.”

He watched the two dance, highly aware even in his hazy stupor that Dante was dancing and behaving a lot better than he was at the moment but…yet even with this knowledge he either seemed to not care or unable to do anything about it, so he just kept watching them and smiling when she did. He had thought he was standing still after giving up on finding a place to sit, but apparently he had been moving the whole time without his knowledge because suddenly he collided with someone and he stood there rather stunned. How did that happen? He blinked at the waitress and it took him a few moments to realize what happened before responding with a frown “I’m sorry, I didn’t even-“ Know he was moving? Maybe that wasn’t the brightest thing to say.
He looked over to France and blinked some more than back to the waitress “I’m sorry” He repeated again but then followed France like a good little puppy because he was really starting to lose it. The more the wine and other liquor sat in his system the worse he became. He moved over to stand infront of a mirror and frowned and it shirt then his eyes went to her as she removed his jacket “I think…I’m embarrassing you” He slurred and looked almost like he was pouting. He had wanted to make a good impression and now he was doing the absolute opposite. He was surprised no one had tried to kick him out yet of the fancy party.

Only six months ago Francesca would have slapped a man and kicked him out on his sorry ass for acting such a fool around her; but Khalid was different. He had changed her. Maybe he hadn’t changed her for the better of mankind, but he had changed her for him. Her eyes were bright as she watched him, looking him over as she removed his coat and began to unbutton his shirt.
“You are a mess right now, but I love you anyway.” She what?! The vampire froze mid-button and blinked slowly. Had those three words really just slipped to him? And of all times to do it when he was drunk! Wait… he was drunk. Maybe he hadn’t noticed. Slowly she looked up to him and forced a smile like nothing was different, then pushed his shirt back off of his shoulders. Her hands moved slowly over his upper arms, and once his shirt was off she touched his chest and stomach seductively. “I think you wear the same size as Niles… I’ll go get you one of his jackets.” In a moment. For the time being she leaned up and kissed him, trying to distract him and make him forget the very special words that had been said for the first time in a very unspecial moment.

He began laughing when she called him a mess, and that simple laughter turned to an uncontrollable bought of giggles. At first it would seem her panic of slipping the L word was unnecessary, for it appeared he had not paid it any mind with all the laughter that had consumed him. As she stared at him to check if he noticed he just kept laughing and laughing, blissfully unaware of it all. He tried to stop his laughter but he couldn’t seem too, which only made him laugh even more. It seemed his fit of giggles would never stop, until she started touching him and that certainly got his attention.
He stopped laughing rather abruptly and seemed to remember he had a beautiful woman infront of him who was touching his bare skin right now. He grinned when she leaned up to kiss him, returning it happily and going back to his more zen-like drunk mode that he was in before. But as they kissed something finally clicked, more than likely to her dismay. He blinked and leaned book, staring at her “Did you say you love me?”

It was uplifting to see Khalid so giddy. It made France feel relieved that she wouldn’t have to have the ‘love’ conversation with him tonight, though her dreams would be short lived. It was inevitable that it would happen. Hell, the first time that he told her he loved her he got a ‘thanks’ from her. Even though she had tried to show it rather than say it, actions were not speaking louder than those three little words he needed to hear.
“What?” The vampire laughed and touched his chest. Damn, he had heard it. “Yes, it must have slipped…” Her eyes wandered from his and she looked straight ahead at his chest, then leaned in and began kissing it. “I love you.” The words were a whisper against his skin and she slid her arms down to his hips and to the hem of his pants before she was able to look back up at him. As long as the sappy words weren’t leaving her lips she was able to look at him, but as soon as they spoke about it she’d, for once in her life, get shy and look away.

He thought maybe his brain had made it up since, well, his brain was making up a lot of crazy thoughts in his head so quick he couldn’t even keep track of any of them. But then she admitted that she did indeed say it and his eyes widened as he balked at her, his body wavering a bit back and forth as if he were standing on a shaky boat. Probably if her hands weren’t on him, he’d be falling over right about now. His concentration got hazy again when she started touching and kissing him again, but he did catch the words the second time around as well and he was just…floored.
He blinked a bit, than blinked some more, before grinning like a kid even though his body was more reacting like a man to her affections “I love you too” But she already knew that, he had already told her but last time he had gotten a thank you, maybe this time he would be a tad bit more fortunate than that.

The poor drunk sailor was wobbling all around his invisible boat. The sight made France smile. It seemed everything he did tonight made her brighten up (hell, anytime she was around him she was all smiles). His grin made her soul sing and she leaned up to kiss him after he returned the words she already knew he felt. The vampire let her hands wander down and run her hand over himself through his pants, but his wobbling put a halt in her effort to get some action in the bathroom.
“We should get you something to eat.” If she didn’t get some water and food in him she wondered if he would become sick. “Or you could lie back and let me take care of you.” The minx purred in his ear just before she kissed his neck, then took a step back to rustle him up a little. “I think I’ll go for the first idea and get you food and some coffee.” Finally the vampire pried herself away from him long enough to pull a glass cup out of the cupboard and got some water for him. He was no god to her if he passed out while she was gone and the fae woke up while he was still in Elizabetia's mannor. “Here, drink this while I go find you something to eat.”
