So the world will never find you

The fae knew that she was asking a lot of the dean, she really did, but she also knew that Evelyn getting lost in here was not a good thing. Freya stood a chance of finding her way out of this mess if it did indeed end at midnight. Evelyn on the other hand would likely just become a fae's favorite toy or meal, and Freya was not having that. "Damn it Evelyn I'm serious." She replied, because really only a fellow fae knew how dangerous another fae's magic could be.

"My teleporting is.." Freya stopped talking and her hands dropped from the dean's face and moved to her stomach. The fae suddenly wasn't feeling all that great, a sharp pain had rushed through her stomach. She jerked a bit, as she felt something going wrong, it was as if something was trying to take control of her but why?

'Naughty naughty fae.' Freya heard and it caused her to look around with her eyes, unsure if Evelyn heard it too. That was followed by an awful sounding crack in Freya's back that caused her to sit straight up with her head back. It was extremely painful, and reminded her of the less the pleasant feeling of the first time that she had used her glamour capabilities. The fae was too busy with the feeling of pain that she failed to notice that she was starting to take her natural form.

The fae gritted her teeth as she tried hard to resist what was ever happening to her, but the harder she fought against it, the more pain she felt. Whatever it was, didn't like the fact that Freya had so much will to fight their magic, so it caused a distraction by tossing the fae at the wall. That brief moment of impact was enough to cause Freya to lose focus, and as she hit the ground she was in her feline form.

Pushing up on her paws the fae shook it's head as she regained her sense. This wasn't good, at least not Freya. Now they couldn't communicate, which only made this situation more dangerous in Freya's eyes. 'Thats better, now run along little kitty.' Freya heard again and it caused her ears to lower. She was one pissed off feline, and now wanted nothing more than to dig her claws into whoever this was.

Freya was not a happy fae at the moment, because she knew that right now communication was important. Now she was forced into her feline form which meant that either A) whoever was doing this saw Freya as a threat, or B) it was just another part of the magic, but seeing as Freya heard a voice she was leaning more towards A. The one thing that made this that much more unsettling was the fact that Freya now knew they were being watched, and closely and obviously couldn't tell Evelyn a thing.

The fae's attention was pulled back to Evelyn and in that moment realized that the vampire had witnessed the whole thing and was probably worried. With no real way to communicate, Freya did the only real thing she could do and that was to step closer to the woman's hand and rub up against it gently to prove that she was okay. Sure, Freya was a little sore, but who wouldn't be after getting launched at the wall?

For now, Freya knew that they needed to start moving, obviously the fae was onto something which meant they stood a chance of getting out of here. With that in mind, Freya would be paying more attention to their surroundings, because if she had her suspicious right, the closer they got to freedom the more challenges they would face.

Turning away from the dean, Freya used a motion of her head to get the dean to follow. They had to keep moving, if only because it would keep whatever this thing was occupied. Surely Freya had caught its attention and it would focus more on her then anyone else... or that was slightly what Freya was hoping.

Oh how Freya would have loved to provide an answer to that question, but she knew it would come out as nothing but meows at this point. She knew exactly why the demon had done what he did, or she had her suspicions anyways. All of it could be explained later, if and when they got out of here. It was just a matter of finding the proper path which would not be easy, because lets face it this was someone idea of a good time.

As they walked along, Freya kept her ears and eyes open, in order to sense any dangers that would be coming their way. Every now and then she would look up to Evelyn and see that look of frustration upon her face. How she wanted nothing more than to console the vampire, tell her that they would make it out of here even if Freya didn't know they would. It was hard walking along side her and not being able to talk at least then the silence wouldn't be so deafening.

It would seem that the pair somehow found the right path because a growl came from the silence of the halls that made the hair on Freya's back stand on end. 'You're going to like this one kitty.' Freya's ears perked as she heard the voice once again, it seemed close... closer than she would have liked and she wasn't sure if it was because it came from the source of the growl or if it was from something else. Still it caused Freya to let out a feline growl as she lowered herself into an attack position. She may have been small but she had claws and whatever was making that sound would not get them without a fight.

Claws nearly at the ready, Freya waited to see what was coming for them but nothing moved. It wasn't until Evelyn started walking again, did Freya move from the attack position that she had been in and walked along side the vampire once more, still on high alert. That sound didn't come for no reason at all it was a warning, and the fae knew that, she just didn't know where it had lurked and why.

When they got to the halls, Freya looked right as Evelyn had look left and saw the hideous looking creature first and swallowed hard even if it wasn't seen. While she would like to say her first instinct was to run, it wasn't, Freya wanted nothing more than to rip into the creature that stood there even if she was at a disadvantage. Instinctively, the fae went back into an attack position, not willing to just roll over at the sight of it, hell Freya was to pissed right now to back down.

She was about to pounce after it when she heard Evelyn say run, and normally would have argued but seeing as they shouldn't be separated, for now Freya would oblige. It wasn't until the beast stood up that Freya actually understood why the running was required. That thing was huge, and could easily have stepped upon Freya and caused a great deal of damage.

Freya's feet slipped a bit beneath her as she tried to regain her footing against the floor, and nearly tumbled as she took off running. It was a difficult thing to run, keep track of Evelyn and not run into anything all at the same time but that is exactly what Freya was trying to do. So help the demon if she found them, she would rip them apart with her little feline fangs piece by piece till it was dead.

Freya could tell the beast was gaining on them but wasn't paying attention as to how. As soon as it landed before them, Freya put on the breaks but it didn't stop her from sliding a bit as she did. Stupid fur just making this more complicated than it needed to be. While the sliding had proved to save the fae, cause she had ended up in a blind spot, what came next was less then pleasing to the fae's ears as a scream came from Evelyn's lips.

A rage filled the feline fae as she saw the creature latch hold of Evelyn and bite into her. That caused Freya to fight against the magic being used on her, not to get into her human form, oh no that would only make this issue worse. Instead she took the form of a large white tiger, colors still remained the same however as black stripes were replaced with purple ones and eyes were black as night. 'No, you shouldn't be able to do that!' He spoke but Freya didn't listen, just pounced, large tiger claws digging into the beast back as deep as she could get them before ripping them back.

Freya had never been so angry in all her life, but no one hurt Evelyn, especially not to the point of trying to eat her like some sort of appetizer. Freya didn't hesitate to dig her back claws into the beast as well, if it wanted a meal then Freya did too and soon her large mouth latched into the beasts shoulder and bit down. One way or the other that beast would let go of Evelyn, Freya would make sure of that.

Freya wanted to rip into the demon more, rip it to shreds like paper in a shredder. She wanted to make it bleed enough that there was no chance of healing and because of that her claws scratched into the beast as much as possible. She didn't even give it much of a chance to counter her attack because of her anger and was about to strike again when the beast scurried away up the wall. Freya would have gone after it too had the overwhelming scent of Evelyn's blood not filled the heavily breathing fae's nose.

It would come back, Freya knew that and next time they may not be so lucky because the beast would be ready for Freya's larger form. This was not the time to worry about that though, as Evelyn was hurt and needed to feed if she was to recover fast enough.

Walking over to vampire and nudged the vampire carefully with her head before holding out a paw near the vampire's mouth, trying to tell her to take some blood. The faster Evelyn got back on her feet the better, but it was a sign that the two of them were headed in the right direction. Plus, Freya had a feeling that the only reason she was still in this form was because of all the anger she held, no doubt that would change once her anger calmed down.

A disapproving groan came from the feline as Evelyn refused to take any of her blood. This was not the time to be stubborn and if anything, Freya knew that they would be at a disadvantage should that... when that creature attacked them again. If she had been in her human form she would have formed Evelyn to drink but being like this there was little she could actually do about it now. Instead she just stayed close to Evelyn as she sat up, making sure that if the vampire fell, Freya could be there to catch her.

'You won't be so lucky next time kitty.' Freya's ears lowered again, she hoped next time she would kill the damn thing, show this bastard who he was messing with. If she had all of her powers like he did she would show him exactly what she could do.

When Evelyn spoke of not doing that again, Freya just shook her head in disagreement she was not about to let the woman die, and there was nothing Evelyn could do about that. They both needed to make it out of here alive, or just Evelyn, the school needed the vampire more than needed Freya and Freya knew that. Hell, Freya would purposely put herself in the path of that beast again, if only to get Evelyn out of this place. With that in mind she was thankful that the pair couldn't speak right now as they would likely only argue about who should make it out of the maze and who shouldn't. For now Freya simply kept her focus on Evelyn, watching for any sign that the woman may fall or pass out, after all Freya had no idea how much blood the vampire had lost at this point.

Freya had a whole lot that she could say in this situation but lucky for Evelyn, the fae words wouldn't come out as words. There was no chance in hell that Freya was about to let Evelyn throw herself on the proverbial sword. Freya knew that Evelyn was just being stubborn but Freya could be just as stubborn about the situation and wasn't going to just walk along and follow orders like some common house pet. The feline lowered her ears in disapproval as Evelyn ranted on about her position in the school and responsibilities. If Evelyn was that concerned about what was right and wrong then she would see that Freya getting injured was far less worry some then if Evelyn did. Letting a low rumble slip as a sign that Freya would not listen if it meant leaving Evelyn behind in this place, no way no how.

As Evelyn stopped, Freya sat down for a moment, bringing a paw up and scratching lightly at her nose. The blood from the beast had started to dry and was making her nose itchy. Though she did breathe a sigh of relief when Evelyn found a passage that the beast may not know about. That was good at least it would give Evelyn a chance to heal more, even more so giving them a chance to get out of here.

The relief was short lived though, as a sound caught Freya's ears once again. 'Not so fast Kitty, I'm not done with you." Turning her head quickly, Freya saw something moving in their direction quickly. She knew there was no time to argue over who was going into the hallway and who wasn't so she stood on her hind legs quickly and shoved Evelyn through the passage before the demon had sealed it off. Freya's paws landed on the sealed wall, which left her to hope and pray that Evelyn would make it out alive. Now Freya wasn't sure how she was going to get out of here, but that wasn't her biggest concern at the moment, the beast had returned and because of saving Evelyn, Freya was completely vulnerable to the beast's first attack.

That was probably one of the stupidest things that Freya had ever done, aside from a drug overdose. She didn't even have time to predict what the beast would do, before it crashed into her, sending her to the floor. A Painful roar escaped the feline mouth as the beast bit into her side with it's many teeth, but Freya didn't just lay there. Her back claws ripped into the beast's throat causing it to let go, enough so that Freya could get free.

'You didn't think it was going to be that easy did you foolish fae?' The beast spoke to her and Freya's eyes narrowed. So this was what caused all the problems in these halls, no wonder it had tried to silence Freya. 'I misjudged your abilities, I won't make that same mistake again.' The beast snickered in her direction before attacking again.

With her side being injured it was hard to move, but Freya forced herself to fight through the pain. She wasn't about to lay down and die, nope that wasn't her style. As the beast jumped in her direction, Freya did the same and the two caught each other mid air, sending them both to the ground, scrambling to gain footing first. They continued to fight, the beast landing bites, whereas Freya landed claws. Had Evelyn been in there the smell of blood probably would have driven the vampire into a frenzy, as it was the pools were making it difficult to fight as their paws slipped because of it.

Even though her body was riddled with pain, Freya kept fighting if only because she knew that running was no longer an option. Just as the fae was about to give up, and let the beast takes its prize of killing her, when she got an opening she had never expected. The beast had taken a step back to admire the fallen feline, and laughed, exposing his throat and chest. With what little strength the fae had left, She lunged forward, claws ripping into his chest and teeth into the neck ripping the beast open, before falling to the ground.

Freya didn't know what really happened next as her body collapsed against the floor, but she recalled seeing the beast vanish before her eyes as she closed them. What she didn't know was that she had defeated the beast, at least for now and the school halls had gone back to normal.

Kristine had been lost in the halls of the school for several hours at the point when things just suddenly... turned back. She found herself overwhelmed with the small of blood, one was more intoxicating than the other was, and it drew the vampire down the hall where she spotted a blonde covered in blood. A slight gasp escaped the nurse as she hurried over and felt for a pulse but it was weak.

Even though the girl's body looked alarming, Kristine quickly picked the girl up and cradled her close. There was no telling if the halls would switch back to the maze so Kristine wanted to get out as quickly as possible. As she held the wounded blonde in her arms, she used her ability to heal her as much as she could, but there was so much to heal, Kristine just wasn't sure if she could get all the injuries fast enough.

It wasn't long before Kristine and the blood made it outside, and Kristine placed the blonde down on the grass to check for a pulse again. She had healed a lot of the injuries but not all of them, fine cat like scratches remained, and the clothes that the blonde was wearing, looked like they had gone through a shredder. "Come on, wake up." Kristine spoke to the unconscious female as she gave the woman a sternum rub, hoping it would wake her. Meanwhile her powers were still working on healing the internal injuries that the girl sustained. "What happened to you?" Kristine couldn't help but to wonder out loud as she tried hard to get any sign of life from the girl covered in blood.

Kristine was frantically trying to heal the fallen blonde when she saw the dean approaching. If the night hadn't been unnerving enough now she had Evelyn there to see whether or not the nurse failed or not... so really no pressure. "No... the halls... they... they turned back to normal... and I found her like this." The nurse explained but her hands never left the woman as she tried to heal what all she could.

When the Dean yelled, Kristine jumped slightly, but was quick back to her job. It was not easy working under so much pressure, even the hellhound situation had seemed easier than this if only because Evelyn had not been there. "I'm trying but... but she... she should be dead. She's holding on for something." Kristine spoke but didn't finish the rest of her sentence as she looked to the dean. Clearly it wasn't a something, but a someone but Kristine would not say that outloud.

After several more painstaking minutes of working on the fae, Kristine pulled her hands away because there was nothing left she could do physically. She had healed as much as her powers would let her, it wasn't like she was a witch anymore she had limitation. "I'm... I'm sorry the... the rest is up to her." The nurse spoke, but didn't leave. Instead she looked down at her watch as her fingers took gentle hold of the fae's wrist and checked her pulse. "Keep talking to her... it might help." Kristine encouraged the woman, but the pulse was still very weak and Kristine knew that this could turn out horribly, horribly bad if the blood covered blood died, but it wasn't like Kristine had not done everything vampirically possible.

If pressure wasn't already heavy on the nurse vampire, it was about to get a whole lot worse. Kristine had anticipated some sort of snarling growl, or even a good verbal lashing for not being able to do more. She just tried to stay focused on the girl though, constantly monitoring her pulse and the occasional sternum rub to try and wake her, just trying to get signs of life outside a heartbeat. Now would have been a really nice time to know who those tears had belonged to, surely it could save this girl.

When Evelyn called her by her first name Kristine instantly looked up at the woman, and never in her three hundred years did she expect the words that came out next. Was... was the dean... dean putting her in charge? The vampire swallowed a bit roughly, because this was not something she had ever expected to have happen. "Ye...yes Dean Varrow, right away." The redhead was up on her feet quickly, as she felt the pressures of the world on her shoulders. If she messed any of this up then surely it would be not only her job but very well the meaning of her existence on this planet.

Before leaving though, Kristine placed a hand on the dean, healing her shoulder a bit more but not much. "I'm sorry I can't do more to help you or her, but I will make sure that what you have asked is done." Kristine spoke softly before turning and heading back towards the school. Before stepping in she closed her eyes for a moment and took in a deep breath and let it go. This was the most nerve wracking night of her life, and the dean of all people had given her orders that she could not fail at. Without anymore hesitation Kristine slipped back into the school, and began giving out orders as soon as she came across people.
